Yup, that's the only way, but throwing things is better when you are using the hold version. WebBlade and sorcery is just a game for fun but you can actually use it to practice footwork and coordination. Though anything else you'd probably have to look for a gym/trainer. There's a lot of reason's that B&S is not feasible to "train" for real life combat. Just to list a few in no particular order.
