The only real option for the lake dwarf is draining the lake. Eventually the dwarfs get over the bad thoughts, and it no longer effects their mood in the future.

Then assigned the hauling job to all of them and made it so its the only job they can do. Nothing. 1 dead dog (with miasma) and 2 skeletal remains of goats in my tavern and one in my temple.
