WebMake sure the engine is cool before working on the flywheel. Wear safety gear, including gloves and eye protection. Disconnect the spark plug and remove the blower housing. Remove the flywheel mounting nut and set it aside. Take the recoil starter cup off the mower. Use the flywheel puller to remove the flywheel and access the flywheel key. WebTurn off the key. Pull the cap off of the spark plug. You don't want the engine to accidentally start while you are working on it. Unscrew the bolts holding the cover over the flywheel on top of the engine. Use the proper sized wrenches to unscrew all the bolts holding the cover to the engine block.
